Idas dans

“Ida’s dans” is about Ida’s last 14 months of life. In the age of 18 the doctors find out she have Leukemia. (Leukemia is cancer of the bone morrow, lymph nodes or other places that produce white blood cells.) That’s when the big process with cures and treatments started.

Her mother Gunnhild Corwin writes the novel. She describes the situation very good from a mother’s point of view. Just something easy like taking a shower, or pie, was a fight for Ida. She had inflammation in both of her legs, so it was hard to stand up or go, and constantly high fever didn’t exactly help. While going thru the biggest cures, she told her mother she just wanted to die. She was tired of pain and feeling helpless.

Ida used to be a healthy and strong dancer, and had to drop the musical on school. Her teacher told her she would get a solo on the next musical when she was healthy. Ida was looking forward to that.

The book is for everybody. I haven’t read it out yet, but I love the book. I have cried since the 3rd side. Sometimes because its sad, and sometimes because everything seems to go so well, and they deserve it.
